## Compare by evidence

The right connector exposes the records your workflow needs with the least
authority and the clearest source trail. Before connecting, check the provider,
scope, time range, freshness, token boundary and missing-data behavior.

- **Data fit:** Does the provider expose the exact record and granularity needed?
- **Authority:** Which scopes are requested, who owns the OAuth app and how is access revoked?
- **Provenance:** Does each result name provider, timestamp, unit and freshness?
- **Boundary:** Is the connector local, hosted or hybrid, and what reaches the model or logs?
- **Failure:** How are stale devices, gaps, duplicates and rate limits surfaced?
